Each student is tested upon entry to the academy and is then set individualised targets dependent on their level.  The targets set are in line with our expectation that students should achieve the following minimum levels:

  • Level 2a by end of Key Stage 1
  • Level 4a by end of Key Stage 2
  • Level 5b (English and Science), Level 6+ (Maths) by the end of Key Stage 3
  • Minimum 5A*-C grades (including English and Maths) at the end of Key Stage 4

Because of these ambitious targets we implement a rigorous assessment system which allows us to know where a student is currently and what is required to ensure he/she makes the necessary progress.

Students are assessed every half term in English, Mathematics and Science and termly in all foundation subjects.
