Students celebrate strong GCSE results

Congratulations to our students who received their GCSE results today after months of hard work across the academy. In all subjects, students achieving an A*-B grade has risen and students achieving the EBACC qualification has also increased.

Gulzar achieved 9A*s and 2 As including a double distinction his Further Maths GCSE. He said “I’ve had some great support from teachers. I want to do Medicine. I’ve always had a dream to be a Doctor.”

Mercy received 6 A*s and 3 As and is most proud of her A in Additional Science and A* in her Triple Science. "I don’t know what I want to do as a career but I want to do something Science related, maybe a Doctor or a Science Teacher." She is going on to study biology, chemistry, maths and economics after winning a scholarship to go to boarding school.

She achieved 3A* 2A 1B 1C and a Btec Distinction * “I’m most proud of my A* in English Literature. We came to England four years ago from Hungary and I didn’t have any English. I was nervous today as I was expecting the worst. I wanted to run home with my results and open them there.”

Ridwan is really happy with his 3A* and 6As. “It was scary walking in to get my results. I didn’t know what to expect when I opened the envelope. I was happy. I’m going to call home and tell them to put it on speaker. When I tell one person it’ll spread through the family really quickly!”

It was like holding fire! I rang my mum first. She wasn’t surprised and obviously I was screaming! “I’m going to go to Globe Sixth Form. I want to study Anthropology at University as I like studying humans and science.”

Matt Jones, Principal said: “It’s a joy to see so many students achieve the grades they’ve been working so hard for – grades that will stand them in good stead for their future careers or university studies. Our GCSE results have consistently improved year-on-year since we first opened six years ago. This year’s results are a significant milestone in our mission to ensure that every one of our students can go to university or into a career of their choice. We’d like to congratulate each and every one of our students on their results and thank parents for their fantastic support.”
