Vision and values
Ark Globe Academy Primary is characterised by alignment around five shared core values that promote high expectations for pupils’ achievement and personal development.
Our pupils will strive to be:
Confident – Our pupils will be confident in everything that they do
Aspirational – Our pupils will be aspirational for future success
Respectful – Our pupils will be respectful of property, others and themselves
Resilient – Our pupils will be resilient in the face of challenges
Independent – Our pupils will be independent learners and thinkers and responsible for their actions.
These core values will be taught explicitly through class work, assemblies and reinforced throughout the year. It is the expectation that all pupils will know and understand them at all times.
Our rituals and routines
It is important that our rituals and routines are embedded consistently throughout the school to ensure a smooth transition at the start of every year.
Ready to learn
The day starts at 8:30am with a mantra of ‘Ready to learn, ready to learn’ and is repeated straight after lunch at 1:00pm (EYs and KS1) and 1:30pm (KS2).
We have five key routines which all classes from Nursery to Year 6 have throughout the school and which should be firmly embedded within your class at all times.
- Class Managers (2 pupils)
- Use a bell to signal quiet
- Daily Mantra
- Transitions – 1, 2, 3 (see below)
- Sit up straight
- Track the Speaker
- Ask and respond
- Respond like a scholar
These should be reinforced on a consistent basis and all staff should follow these closely.
quiet and respectful
When moving around the building, pupils must be quiet and respectful. Pupils walk up the stairs on the left and down on the left – silent stairs.
Tronador School also follows the STEPS routine of:
- Thank you
- Excuse me
