Prepare for university
Getting to and through a top university, higher level or degree apprenticeship is about more than writing a good UCAS application. You need a combination of skill, drive and knowledge. At Ark Globe Academy Sixth Form we develop this through lessons, enrichment activities, learning family time, visits and supported independent study. We also work with the following partner organisations to ensure you have the support you need to get.
The Access Project – offer 1:2:1 tutoring in a range of subjects and bespoke support for Oxbridge and Medicine candidates
Coachbright – offers 1:2:1 academic coaching with recent graduates to maximise your personal drive and discipline
The Brilliant Club – gives students a taste of university learning as they write essays alongside a PhD student from a top university.
Our first cohort of Year 13 have all received offers from university. 50% of students received offers from the top thirty universities in the country and 45% of students received offers from Russell Group Universities (the top 25 in the country and the leading research universities in Britain).
Each year students from across the Ark Schools network have the opportunity to apply for one of our university bursaries donated by supporters of the Ark network. The bursaries are awarded to students who have not only shown great academic potential but those who have been committed to school and their community.
We were very proud that this year three of our year 13 students were awarded bursaries from Marshall Wace. Congratulations to Charlie who receives £3000 a year for the duration of his course and , Melissa and Tobi each awarded the Marshall Wace first year bursary of £3000.
